JEWELER ENGRAVED 1ST SS PZ - LSSAH IRON CROSS 1ST CLASS

1943 DATE, FAMILY NAME REMOVED SS-HAUPTSTURMFUHRER!

This beauty weighs in at a gracious 18.3 grams and is era hand-engraved. The hand-engraving is deep and true old world style hand chiseled engraving! It is from an elite member of the famed SS 1ST Panzer Division of the LSSAH and dated the 18TH of March of 1943.

This one is was named but I imagine the family obliterated the name, or someone did and obviously on purpose. One thing I can say is that I took this cross and looked under an inductrial optical device and magnified the engraving for even the slightest hint of a rotary tool being used (which would be a modern fake), and there was not a trace of such, so I feel good that this ia a 100 percent era hand-engraved by hand tools only job. The rank is a captain equivalent.

This is a fine badge with no defects, has a solid magnetic core with only mild wear. As I refer to the quality of the badge’s ruggedness and construction. It has the 20 maker stamp, which I believe is Zimmermann.
