100% MINT NAZI SS MARKED! SNIPER DRILLED K-98 RECEIVER

$Price Is Negotiable

G0004

I’m trying with this entry to find out the IDENTITY of the WEAPON this RECEIVER is for?

Here is what I have found thus far in my research:

ZZA4 NAZI SS DEPOT MARKED SNIPER DRILLED MAUSER RECEIVER

- A civilian LEFT HAND receiver SS depot inventoriy marked artifact!

Something that you do not see all that often, an original, Nazi SS marked receiver for a Mauser rifle that stretched back to Weimar stampings, etc.

The SS and other acceptance markings are extremely visible and get a load of the palindrome “0990” Note the groove on the top of the receiver. Zero defects. Item is perfect. No hidden surprises. Guaranteed era.

Would make a great addition to any collection. My items are as always, as described.

History: By the end of the war, the small arms salvaged by the SS zentral zeugamt had little to nothing to do with other than that of salvaged weapons rebuilt/repaired by them. Often times these facilities were inside concentration camps, but had nothing to do with the camps themselves. They received material for repair and use only.

The "S" and "H" logo on the underside is for the Siemens Halske firm, which did make weapons in WWI and under the Weimar - this piece has a few Weimar stamps on it, and my assumption is that this was some sort of a civilian or whatever mauser rifle that made the rounds near the frantic time period before the war ended and the SS like all other German branches was scrambling for arms and munitions anywhere they could get them. I do not believe this is any sort of regulation military weapon, but it does have a place for a stripper clip on the top.

As to the Waffen-SS Supply Organization ZZA4 stamp. The SS DEPOTS center, Central Distribution Center (SS-Zentralzulassungstelle) is where this piece had passed through at one point. At some point rifles got ZZA2 or ZZA4 and in some cases a single rune marking - they discontinued the totehead and commercial proofing of salvaged rifles earlier
