BEAUTIFUL AND OVERWEIGHT 17.2 GRAM IRON CROSS 1ST CLASS
DIRECT 330TH INFANTRY VET NOK PURCHASE WITH ORIGINAL CAPTURE PAPERS!
Sweet. I was at a garage sale a long time ago and saw this man and simply asked if he was a veteran.

Yes, 86th Infantry Division. And did he have some nice items. Here we some of the items I kept, all will be offered in a grouping. He took photos, and souvenirs and had the facts to back it up with.

Company A, 341st Infantry. Taken in combat from an SS officer's tunic, alive as a POW.

What I remember of Private Walter Anderson's relating of the story was - "Boy, was he pissed" when Private Anderson reached over and literally tore it off the SS Officer's bloodied tunic. The same Officers Belt buckle is offered, as well as most of the Private's combat souvenir memorabilia in one group.

The Iron cross is in perfect shape. It has minimal wear. Hallmarked. L59 and the three small dimples of the strike. Note no slash "/" which is typical for this maker. This is the hallmark of Alois Rettenmaler, of Scwabisch-Gmund. An Iron Cross typically weighs 16.3 grams. The nicer ones more.

This beauty weighs in at 17.2 grams, and is flawless. Never broken, never repaired, about the only issue I have is the bar is perhaps not an original, but if not, it is an era replaced item in my opinion. Magnetic core, 95% paint. Field taken in the act of war in April of 1945, just before they moved into Austria.

You cannot upgrade over this item by sheer documentation.

One of only a dozen or so true, war taken large groupings that I have been personally responsible for bringing to light over the years.

It has my guarantee, as the Author of historic texts Tiger Patterns and Seeds of Victory. Perfect for any collection or display!
